I heard Autotech just released a new stainless exhaust for the MK5. Has anyone heard it yet, or even heard anything about it? For the most part I have been impressed with Autotech's products, I don't have any experience with their exhausts however.

Autotech continues to push the performance exhaust system envelope. Extensive research and development time was spent in conjunction with industry icon Magnaflow to improve on the factory offering, as Volkswagen has done a great job engineering the stock 2.0T exhaust for ample flow. We're proud to have met that challenge and now offer our Autotech SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems for the Mk5 2.0T models.

The 3.00” diameter, 100% stainless steel tubing is a half-inch larger than stock and mandrel-bent for maximum flow. These cat-back systems exit through a low-restriction T304 stainless steel Magnaflow muffler and dual 3” tips that feature our laser-engraved AUTOTECH logo, providing a menacing appearance with an aggressive exhaust note worthy of the all-conquering 2.0T motor!

Dyno tests (using a DynoJet 248C chassis dyno) show gains of up to 8 whp and 6 ft./lbs. of torque at the wheels, impressive considering most competitors systems also require changing the downpipe/catalyst (which is currently an illegal modification) to realize any power gain. Autotech is also in development on a CARB approved SportTuned Downpipe w/ Sport Catalyst that will further increase horsepower in tandem wiith our SportTuned exhaust system AND remain 100% legal in all 50 states!

All Autotech SportTuned Stainless Steel Exhaust Systems feature a LIMITED LIFETIME WARRANTY to the original purchaser.

Stock GTI 2.0T cat-back exhaust weight: 36 lbs.

Autotech SportTuned 2.0T exhaust weight: 25 lbs.

Check out the audio clip son the website. It sounds decent, it's a four banger so you aren't going to ever get a really great sound. If it's like a 1.8t, the big jump in power will really come from the downpipe, which I am sure they are working on as we speak.

mike that isnt always true, the 4banger can get a deep nice rumble you just have to know what your doing bigger pipes that are actually functional certain components for boost etc. will increase HP push and force while giving a nice muslce sounding rumble
