It's all over the news:

Personally, I think it's a waste of resources. Where's the infrastructure to support said vehicles? And what happens when one of these "Hydrogen 7" crashes? BOOM!

I think there are two ways of looking at this. One is, that it is a new technology that isn't really going to be supported and will die out.

The other way to look at it is, it will create its own demand. Oil companies will never add hydrogen pumps to their stations if their is no demand. If BMW builds hydrogen powered cars not only will it create a small demand, but it will create interest in the technology for more mainstream cars. People that are buying 7s generally have more than one car. If they buy the 7-H (I should trademark that before BMW steals it) as a novelty, like the prius, it will allow someone with expendable income to test out and basically give some credibility to the technology.

I wouldn't be to worried about it blowing up in the event of an accident. Ibelieve the Hydrogen is mixed with something that is seperated out and recycled right before it is injected into the engine.

Wouldn't you like to have a car that the only thing that comes out of the tail pipe is steam? The world would be a much cleaner, while maybe a little more humid, place.

The full press release of the "Hydrogen 7" can be found here:

A novelty? Good point. I discussed the issue with another enthusiast who said "no go" to the h7. Said he can't see such buyers willing to put up with the hassle of no fueling station. But if such a vehicle is a secondary one (i.e., for the country club, dinners with the "green" crowd, etc.) that's an entirely different matter.

it most likely wont happen they are having extremem problems with the h7 most of all but with the GM one. the engine components are freezing and stuff b/c H+ has to be kept at a certain temp. and a plethora of other issues
