Who knows how to become a test driver?  

Excellent question, there are a few different ways really. First you can become a tester for the media or you can become a tester for a car company. I suppose you could also be a tester for a government or consumer agency, but I think it is probably similar to the two above.

Both choices will require you to have a technical background. An engineering degree certainly wouldn't hurt but a car magazine won't necessarily require it. Racing experience would be great. You need to be very consistent in your driving and you aren't going to get that kind of experience driving on the street. Some amount of writing experience would be good if you want to work for the media also.

Test driver is a job that every car guy wants, so expect huge amounts of competition to get the job. There is unfortunately a surplus of people that want to do the job, and a shortage of jobs for those people. This sadly equates to a lower pay range for jobs that would require equal skill and education. In other words, this has to be something yo want to do for the job itself and not something you do to get rich.
