I’ve been working on this new SUV for my wife’s birthday at the end of the month, almost done after a year of agony! I’m just finishing up with the interior and other accessories and wanted to know if anyone had experience w/ in-dash navigation systems? Any suggestions/ideas would be really helpful for me.

I haven't really spent a considerable amount of time with any aftermarket in-dash systems to really give qualified feed back, but another Primedia publication, Car Audio, did a buyers guide a few months ago. You might find it useful in making some decisions.

wow very helpful review there, i've had such a hard time finding people with actual experience with a system, i've read a lot about the Pioneer especially on www.drivehappier.com but nothing compares to a good first hand recommendation

Oddly enough I don't know hardly anyone who has installed an aftermarket in-dash set up. It seems like everyone takes the easy way out and buys a stick on transferable system. The few people I know that have installed systems in there cars, have bought the factory sytem and retro *** them.
Glad I could be some help, let us know how it turns out.
