One of the guys from another Primedia magazine just showed up driving a brand new Viper. Being a car guy, I had to check it out. I have never been that much of a Viper fan. They are the definition of a rolling engine. They aren't that great at the track, and they really aren't a great car to drive on the street, so really they are just an 86,000 dollar toy. The fit and finish is marginal at best. You have to slam the trunk, HARD, to get to close. There is no inside hood release, thats right, next time you see one in the parking garage at the mall, go ahead and throw open the hood and check out the V10. They have improved the sound from the original Vipers, that in my opinion, sounded more like a UPS truck than a muscle car. After we checked out the car, we both came to the conclusion that while it does have definite cool factor, it isn't something either of us would actually want in our garages.

I saw it, too. Did you see the amount of plastic in the  interior? The (now defunct) Crossfire looked better! No wonder the domestics can't compete against the Germans. Hopefully MB will take over the Viper project and show it how it's done right.

Viper now a days are better, I know they guy who headed the original viper project and they admit to having a sweet engine and building a car around it and it not really coming out to what it should have been. the newer ones are much better, and thats where US manufacturing ALWAYS drops the ball. They get so good [for the most part] and they do sumthin stupid like no hood latch, or plastic interior. So all in all if you like the car that much do what brabus did improve it blak, read LEATHER and suede, and add the stuff the dummies at dodge 4got about
