I would much rather prefer having complete control of my own GTI. We are in the golden age of driving. Computer interference, and inevitable automation of the driving process will be a side effect of the increasing quest for safety. I am all for that, but I like having the ability to make my own decisions with the manual gearbox, my steering wheel directly linked to the front wheels (not some electric system) and my own control of brakes. All of which I feel when driving the six speed 2.0T GTI. That car REQUIRES a test drive for all new car buyers.
