Although the front of the concept looks familiar as it has themes from the Aero X that was launched in 2001, the rear is something special. At first glance it makes you think of the Volvo P70, but soon you'll see the unique lines. The concept has a shooting-brake silhouette, and the long roof provides more rear headroom and interior space.
When the bottom half of the BioHybrid's split tailgate is opened, an electrically powered cargo floor-coated with high-friction rubber carpeting-slides out. And up front, a Sony Ericsson-designed interface, similar to Ford's Sync, provides in-car wireless connectivity and incorporates streaming data, entertainment, and sat-nav functions, along with support for the simultaneous use of multiple devices.
The concept also explores the use of active aerodynamics for reducing drag and thus fuel consumption. Over 43 mph, the roof spoiler automatically extends to lengthen the roof line and an underbody diffuser is deployed from the bottom of the rear bumper.
The 9X BioHybrid shows a potential for efficient power from its 200-hp, 1.4-liter biopower turbo engine, backed with GM's next generation Hybrid system with lithium-ion battery pack. On E85 fuel the concept can accelerate to 62 mph in 7.9 seconds and to a 134-mph top speed, and the CO2 emissions of 105 g/kg shows the potential of the package.

Thanks for sharing the useful information with all.The interior showcases an entirely new expression of Saab's driver-focused cockpit design, together with innovative, seamless connectivity for personal nomadic devices and a rear cargo deck with a ‘low friction' loading system. One of the most exciting features of the Saab 9-X Concept is its powertrain. The concept is powered by a 200 hp 1.4-liter BioPower turbo engine which produces 280 Nm of torque and runs on E85 fuel. The engine is mated to a six-speed manual gearbox with automatic clutch and steering wheel controls and the estimated fuel consumption when running on gasoline is 4.9 l/100 km and 117 g CO2/km, while when running on E85, CO2 emissions are projected to be even lower, at just 105 g/km and estimated fuel consumption of 6.4 l/100 km. ______________ Saab Car Lease | Saab Car Parts
