I also wonder why is the arms of the actuator can give out so easily? I just had it replaced almost one year ago as it popped off the arms and it recently popped back off. Any explanation? BMW 318I

I don't know about the heat, but in terms of the size, figure the actuator arm has to be able to seek to any concentric ring (track) over the surface of the disk. Kind of like a DJ's turntable playing a record.
