'83 porsche 944 project

Hi, I am a new member and have quite a few questions. I am part of the autoshop program at my high. we have a 83 porsche 944 that we would like to tune to become a track only car. something that we can take out to infineon and race on the weekends.
the car is in fairly good condition. the engine has only 70k miles on it. What would be some good upgrades to invest in to make this car competitive out at the track?
